Community
An article in the Standford Social Innovation Review by Chavis and Lee says that: "First and foremost, community is not a place, a building, or an organization; nor is it an exchange of information over the Internet. Community is both a feeling and a set of relationships among people." A Journey Group is at least three people who meet at least monthly to foster authentic connections, biblical understanding and spiritual transformation. To foster community. Do you enjoy studying the Bible and teaching others what you are learning? Would you be interested in leading, assisting or hosting a group? Many of our Journey Groups meet on Wednesday nights at the church and share a community meal beforehand. Beyond prepping and serving, we need a team to set up and teardown tables and chairs each week through the school year. Aside from Wednesday Night and Journey Groups, we have some plans and lots of ideas to specifically love particular age groups through our initiatives to our College and Young Adults and our 55+ neighborhood. We could use some help. Everyone has different gifts. If not, it would be a boring world. If a green thumb or good knees is your gift - consider joining the team that plants and harvests bushels of fresh produce each summer for local food pantries. Regardless of age or experience, we have places for you to serve the community!
